Lingo Pro: AI Translation for Travel (“Lingo Pro,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a language translation app designed to help users translate text, speech, and images while traveling.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app may collect, how it is used, and how users can contact us.
Information we collect
Lingo Pro may collect or process the following information depending on the features you use:
1. Text entered for translation
When you type text into the app, that text may be processed to provide a translation.
2. Voice input
If you use voice translation, the app may access your microphone to capture spoken words and convert them into text for translation.
3. Camera and image input
If you use Snap to Translate, the app may access your camera or selected images to detect and translate text from signs, menus, posts, labels, and similar travel-related content.
4. Saved translation history
The app may store recent translations locally on your device so you can access them later.
5. Language requests
If you request a new language, the app may store the requested language so we can understand which languages users want added.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide text, voice, and image translation features
- Generate translated text and travel visual cues
- Save recent translations on your device
- Improve app functionality and user experience
- Respond to support requests
- Evaluate requests for new language support
Third-party services
Lingo Pro uses a secure translation backend and OpenAI, our third-party AI service provider, to provide AI text translation, speech-to-text, and image translation features.
When you choose an AI translation feature, the app may send the text you enter, a short microphone recording, the image you capture or choose, the detected text in that image, and your selected source or target language to our backend and OpenAI only as needed to return the requested translation.
Lingo Pro asks for your permission in the app before sharing translation content with the AI service. If you do not agree, no AI translation request is sent.
OpenAI is required to process this information according to its applicable privacy, security, and data protection commitments. We do not permit third-party AI service providers to sell your personal information.
Camera, microphone, and photo access
Lingo Pro only requests camera access when you use Snap to Translate.
Lingo Pro only requests microphone access when you use voice input.
Lingo Pro only requests photo library access when you save a branded translated image or choose an image for translation.
Local storage
Some information, such as translation history and language requests, may be stored locally on your device. You can clear translation history inside the app where available.
Children’s privacy
Lingo Pro is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Data security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information processed through the app. However, no digital service can guarantee complete security.
Future premium features and ads
Lingo Pro may offer premium subscriptions, ads for basic users, or other monetization features in future versions. If enabled, those services will be disclosed in the app and handled according to applicable platform rules.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
