PDF Smart Scanner Privacy Policy
PDF Smart Scanner is designed to scan, save, edit, convert, sign, and share documents on your device. This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Smart Scanner handles information when you use the iOS and iPadOS application.
Information We Process
PDF Smart Scanner may process documents, photos, images, PDF files, signatures, annotations, extracted text, filenames, folder names, and app settings that you create or import in the app. This processing is used to provide scanner, PDF creation, OCR, editing, signing, conversion, security, and export features.
On-Device Processing
PDF Smart Scanner is built to process scans, images, PDFs, OCR text, and signatures on your device whenever reasonably possible using Apple frameworks. We do not upload your scans, images, PDFs, signatures, or extracted text to our servers.
Local Storage
Documents you save in the app are stored locally on your device unless you choose to export, share, copy, save, or back them up elsewhere using iOS features or another service. Saved signatures are stored locally for reuse in the app.
Photos, Camera, Files, and Biometrics
The app may request access to the camera, photo library, Files, Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode features when needed. Camera access is used for document scanning. Photo and file access is used for importing or exporting documents. Biometric or passcode access is used only for local app or document locking features.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Premium subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card information. The app may use StoreKit purchase status and entitlement information to unlock premium features.
Sharing and Exporting
When you choose to share, email, print, export, copy, or send a file to another app or cloud service, that action is controlled by iOS and the selected third-party service. Their own privacy practices apply to information you choose to send to them.
Analytics and Advertising
PDF Smart Scanner may use App Store and Apple-provided purchase or performance information to understand app functionality and subscriptions. If advertising is added or enabled, ad networks may process limited device or advertising information according to their own policies and Apple platform rules. We do not use advertising to upload the contents of your scans, PDFs, signatures, or extracted text.
Children
PDF Smart Scanner is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Data Security
We use Apple platform security features and local device protections where practical. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so you should protect your device, passcode, Apple ID, and exported files.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
